Welcome to my page of whimsical imagination.

My name is Esther Gulacsi, and I have been playing with clay since I was a little kid. I can’t even remember when and how I was introduced to pottery. There are many statues scattered inside my parents’ house that I made for my mom or my dad. Some hadn’t even been fired to bisque, the rest have never seen glaze. 

Drawing was always what centred me and helped me to zone out, to be free, but life pulled me away. After my mom died, I was drawn back to drawing, and AstroFungi was created.

But way before my mom passed, I came across Biggirlco‘s Instagram account, and I felt the need to create one monster for my mom. Life was busy, and I couldn’t get to it.

Then the unimaginable happened, drawing took over to help me grieve, and I remembered the monsters. I found a studio where I could make my first monster, Bendeguz, the Ist (named by my dad). Then came another (Poseidon), then another (Alfonz), and another… In a couple of months, I made 20 clay monsters, mugs with octopuses, stingrays, starfish, a dragon and a phoenix.

When an idea strikes or inspiration hits, I can’t rest until it’s done.

I can only hope these cosmic creations find their forever home, and maybe one will find its way into your heart.
